A glimpse of things to come
I have been hard at work over the holidays and all through January with site development and launches, as well as addon development for ExpressionEngine.
If you use ExpressionEngine for Japanese sites, I published a Japanese Language pack for the EE2 Control Panel (Github link), as well as launched Japanese kana typing (Devot:ee link), small free extension that will help Japanese writers when...

Just in time for the holidays, I released my first commercial addon: Kyara. This module allows you to extend the capabilities of some ExpressionEngine fields by allowing more characters in entry titles, for example. There is also simple a database backup tool included to allow downloading database backups of your site from the control panel.
I intend to write more about the various uses of...

Here's something I noticed that could come in very handy in some situations when building ExpressionEngine sites.
Did you know that you can add some HTML to your custom field labels? For example, in your custom field manager (Admin => Channel Administration => Custom Fields), you can italicize words in your field label like so:

In your entry form, your entry field will look like this:

Storing file uploads above webroot in EE2
I'm sure many have already read how to run ExpressionEngine with the system directory above webroot, as well as the great article on Securing EE2 on EE Insider by using similar techniques. I was wondering, however, if this was possible with EE's upload directories. I also made subtle changes to proportions by making the site follow more closely the 960 Grid system. If by any chance you haven't been using this grid in your designs, it's a good...

I have updated some my addons over the weekend for ExpressionEngine 2. Each addon will now have two download links for the 1.6.x and 2.x versions of the addon.
The updated addons are:
- Google Analytics (actually updated my Mathieu Fauveau)
- NB moji limit
- NB CSV to Table
- NB Japanese Year
I have tested these addons myself and they seem to be running fine. If you encounter any...

It's done, the site has been upgraded and is now running using ExpressionEngine 2. The upgrade went very well, aside from a few minor hiccups (note: upgrade goes better if you don't leave the "save templates as files" option on in EE 1.6.x). You may have noticed a few more changes on the site as well.
Site redesign
I guess my green phase is over. The initial design was put together very...
